Release notes
Changelog
Windows tracks its own version numbers. They're separate from the Mac build's: the two share
an engine design and a business-license key, not a version line.

1.2.0
Beta
July 31, 2026
Language support, and dialogs that finally say what their buttons do.
Language
- Wakr now speaks 13 languages. English, Español, Français, Deutsch, Italiano, Português (Brasil), Nederlands, Polski, Русский, Türkçe, 日本語, 简体中文, 한국어. Pick one from the new Language submenu, or leave it on Auto to follow your Windows display language. Every menu item, notification and dialog re-titles instantly, no restart. Each language uses its own Windows vocabulary for sleep, so the German build says Energiesparmodus and the Korean build says 절전.
Dialogs & the tray icon
- Dialogs say what their buttons do. The prompts used to be Windows message boxes, which can only offer Yes / No / Cancel, so the body text had to explain which was which. They are now native task dialogs with real labels: "Yes, I like it", "Download", "Remove License". Screen readers announce the actual action, and the dialogs pick up Windows 11's rounded corners and Wakr's own icon.
- Fixed: the menu no longer goes stale. The status line and the "Turn Off" item were snapshotted when the tray icon was created, so a running countdown showed in the tooltip while the menu still read "Asleep". They now track the session live.
- Fixed: the open-eye glyph is legible at 100% scaling. It was a thin lens with a pupil punched through the middle, which smeared into an unreadable blob at 16 px, so the active state was the harder one to recognise at a glance. It is now the same optical weight as the moon.
- Sharp on high-DPI displays. Wakr opts into per-monitor DPI awareness, so dialogs are drawn crisply at 150% and 200% instead of being bitmap-stretched by Windows.
License window
- The license-key window is translated, carries the Wakr icon instead of Tk's, scales with your display, and takes Enter and Esc.
1.1.1
July 16, 2026
First Windows release: full feature parity with Wakr 1.1.1 for macOS.
The tray app
- System tray utility that holds your PC awake (no idle sleep, no display sleep, no screen saver) for
exactly as long as you ask. Under the hood it holds the same
SetThreadExecutionStatepower request Windows itself uses to keep an active download or render job from being interrupted. - One glyph tells you the state: an open eye while a session is active, a crescent moon once your PC is free to sleep again, auto-matched to your taskbar's light or dark theme. The tray tooltip carries a live countdown for timed sessions, and the menu's status line shows it too.
- Duration presets: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, or indefinitely until you turn it off or quit.
- Left-click the tray icon to toggle: awake indefinitely, or back off. The common case is literally one click. Right-click opens the full menu.
Login & updates
- "Launch Wakr at Login" toggle (per-user, no admin).
- Silent weekly "Check for Updates" (on by default, toggle in the menu), plus a manual "Check for Updates…" item and a prominent "Update to X.X.X Available…" item when one's found, never a modal, so it's discoverable without nagging.
Help & licensing
- "Help" and "Leave a Review" menu items, deep-linking to twoplus11.com with app/version/OS prefilled, and low-pressure review/tip prompts (each shown at most once).
- Business licensing: free personal tier stays fully functional forever; "Manage License…" lets you activate a one-time $5/computer business key against twoplus11's license server, with a 72h offline grace period.
