Privacy Policy
The short version
Your files never leave your Mac. Mirrorr copies files between local drives. It does not upload, stream, or transmit your data anywhere. The only network connections it makes are update checks and optional license validation.
1. What Mirrorr accesses
Mirrorr reads every file on your source volume, including system files, hidden files, and files belonging to other user accounts. It writes copies of those files to the destination volume you choose. Both volumes must be locally attached drives.
To do this, Mirrorr installs a privileged background service (daemon) that runs as root. The daemon accepts commands only from the signed Mirrorr application, verified by code-signing requirement over XPC. No other application can issue commands to the daemon.
2. What Mirrorr does NOT access
- Your internet traffic or browsing history
- Your contacts, calendars, or email
- Your microphone, camera, or location
- Any cloud storage or remote server
- Any data on drives you have not selected as source or destination
3. Network connections
Mirrorr makes two types of network connections, both optional:
- Update checks: Mirrorr periodically checks
api.twoplus11.comfor new versions via the Sparkle update framework. This sends your current app version and macOS version. No identifying information is included. - License validation: If you purchased a commercial license, Mirrorr contacts
api.twoplus11.comonce to validate your purchase. This sends the license key and a device identifier. No file data is ever sent.
You can block both connections with a firewall or content blocker. Mirrorr will continue to work without them.
4. Data we collect
None. twoplus11 does not collect telemetry, usage analytics, crash reports, or any other data from Mirrorr. There is no opt-in and no opt-out because there is nothing to opt into.
If you purchase a commercial license, Stripe processes the payment. twoplus11 receives your email address and the Stripe payment identifier. We do not receive or store your card number. See Stripe's privacy policy for details on how they handle payment data.
5. Data storage
All Mirrorr data stays on your Mac:
- Configuration and logs are stored in
~/Library/Application Support/Mirrorr/ - The daemon's state is stored in
/Library/Application Support/Mirrorr/ - Backup data is stored on the destination volume you selected
Uninstalling Mirrorr and removing these directories deletes all local data.
6. Children
Mirrorr does not collect data from anyone, including children. There are no accounts, no tracking, and no online features directed at children.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. For anything not covered, the fleet-wide twoplus11 privacy policy applies.
