Privacy Policy
- Copyr copies files entirely on your PC. Your files never leave your computer, and your originals are never modified, except when you deliberately choose Move for a job.
- No usage analytics, no accounts. Copying never touches the network. Copyr does keep a few notes on your own PC (see section 2).
- The only times Copyr contacts our servers: an automatic check for a new version about once a week (which you can turn off), or if you buy a commercial license (payment is handled by Stripe, and we never see your card number). Your files are never involved.
1. Who We Are
Copyr is made by twoplus11 LLC, a Missouri limited liability company (twoplus11.com). When this policy says "we," "us," or "our," it means twoplus11 LLC.

2. Data We Do Not Collect
Copyr is built to be completely private:
- Your files are yours. Copyr only touches the files you hand it and the destination you choose, and everything it does (reading, writing, checksumming) happens locally on your PC. No file, filename, path, or size is ever uploaded to us or anyone else.
- Copyr never edits a file's contents. It reads your source files and writes copies at the destination you chose. It deletes an original in exactly one case: when you deliberately choose Move for that job. Move is a per-job choice, it is never a saved default, and it turns verification on for you, so an original is removed only after that file's copy is completely written and checksummed, unless you deliberately turn verification back off.
- What Copyr stores on your PC. So that an interrupted copy can be resumed, Copyr records unfinished jobs, including the source and destination paths, in
%APPDATA%\Copyr\Jobs. In its preferences file it remembers your settings, your language and your window size. All of it lives on your PC only and is never transmitted. A job's record is deleted when it finishes or you discard it, and you can delete that folder and those preferences yourself at any time. The only thing you lose is the ability to resume a copy that was already interrupted. - No usage analytics. The app does not report how you use it or track what you copy. Its only request to us is the update check described in section 3, and you can turn it off.
- No accounts at all. Copyr needs no sign-up and no key for personal or commercial use. There is no login screen and no activation step, even if you buy a commercial license.
3. Data We Do Collect
Commercial-license purchases. If you buy a Commercial License, you enter your company name, work email, and number of devices in our checkout form. We receive your company name and email so we can deliver your license key and keep a record of the purchase. Payment is processed by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe, and we never see or store them.
Licensing tells us nothing further. When you activate a commercial license key, Copyr asks our license server whether that key is valid: when you enter it, and then about once a day while the app is running. The request carries the key, the app's version, a one-way hash of a Windows machine identifier (which cannot be reversed to identify your PC) used only to count seats, and the computer name you type in, if you type one. It says nothing about your files or what you do with them. Personal use makes this request never: with no key stored, there is nothing to validate.
Update checks. Copyr checks whether a newer version exists: automatically about once a week, or when you check manually. You can switch the automatic check off. This is an ordinary HTTPS request that identifies the app and the version you're running; like any web request, it also carries your IP address. We record that the check happened, with a one-way daily hash of that address rather than the address itself, together with the browser-style identifier your PC sends with any web request, so we can count how many installs are active. It says nothing about your disks or your files. If you then choose to install the update, Copyr downloads the installer and verifies its Authenticode signature and version before running it.
4. Where Copyr Stores Things on Your PC
Everything Copyr saves stays inside your own Windows user account, and none of it is transmitted:
- Preferences (your options, language and window size) in
%APPDATA%\Copyr. - Unfinished job records (the source and destination paths a job needs to resume) in
%APPDATA%\Copyr\Jobs. A record is deleted once its job finishes or you discard it. - The application itself in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Copyr, or inC:\Program Files\Copyrif you chose to install it for everyone who uses the PC.
Uninstalling removes the application. If you want every trace gone, delete the two folders above as well.
5. If You Contact Us
If you email us (for support, beta feedback, or a question about your commercial license), we receive your email address and whatever you choose to put in your message. If you submit our report form and attach a screenshot, we receive that too. We use this information only to reply to you and to fix the problem. We do not sell or share it.
6. Downloading the App
Copyr is downloaded from our website, which is hosted by a third-party web host. Like any website, the host may keep standard server access logs (such as IP address) for security and operational purposes. This happens at the web-server level when you visit the download page. The Copyr application itself does not transmit anything.
7. Children's Privacy
Copyr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Your Rights
If you are in the European Union, United Kingdom, or California, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. The only personal data we hold is what you send us by email and, for commercial-license holders, the company name and email tied to your purchase. You can exercise these rights by contacting jeremy@twoplus11.com. We will respond within 30 days. Deleting your commercial-license record will deactivate the license.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page when we do. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
