Blinkr terms of use

Last updated 2026-08-27

The agreement

These terms are between you and twoplus11 LLC, a Missouri limited liability company ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing or using Blinkr ("the app") you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Your license

Blinkr is free for personal use, forever. That grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on Macs you own or control. No trial timer, no locked features.

Using Blinkr on a work machine, for work, requires a one-time $5 business license per device, available on the Blinkr pricing section. The license is one-time: there is no subscription, and updates to the app are included at no additional cost.

A license covers one device. Your key arrives by email and is entered in Blinkr's own License window — the key button in any window's footer. Activating records that Mac as the seat the license is being used on; Blinkr re-checks the key with our licensing server about once a day, and keeps working for three days if that server cannot be reached. Removing the key in that window hands the seat back so another machine can use it.

You may not resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the app; remove or alter its copyright notices; or reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble it except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits despite this limitation.

Not medical advice

Blinkr is a reminder utility, not a medical device. The 20-20-20 rule it follows is a widely shared comfort guideline, not a treatment, and Blinkr makes no health claims. Whether you follow or skip its reminders is your call, and taking every break is not a promise that your eyes will feel any particular way. If you have actual symptoms — persistent strain, dryness, headaches, blurred vision — see an eye-care professional. A menu-bar timer is not the answer to a symptom.

What the app does not do

Blinkr does not collect anything in the background — the four signals it reads to time breaks stay on your Mac, as the privacy policy spells out. It works entirely offline apart from two calls: the optional update check, and the daily re-check of a business license key, which never happens unless you have entered one. And quitting it ends everything it does: there is no helper, no agent, and nothing left running.

Availability and updates

The app checks for updates about once a week unless you turn that off, and updates are delivered through the in-app updater. We may release updates that change or remove features; we try not to remove things people rely on, and anything notable is described in the changelog. We do not promise future versions, and we do not guarantee that any particular version remains available for download indefinitely.

Refunds

If Blinkr does not do what this site says it does, tell us within 14 days of buying a business license and we will refund you. Ask through the issue form.

Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any particular break schedule will suit your eyes, your work, or your day.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, twoplus11 LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising out of your use of the app. Our total liability under these terms will not exceed the amount you paid for the app.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, so parts of the two sections above may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Privacy

Blinkr collects nothing. See the privacy policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Changes

We may update these terms; the current version always lives at this address with its date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
