1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Aliasr, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Aliasr.
These Terms form a legal agreement between you and twoplus11 LLC, a Missouri limited liability company ("we," "us," or "our").
2. The Application
Aliasr is a macOS batch file renamer. It applies user-defined rename rules to files the user adds, shows the resulting names in a preview, and (when the user applies the batch) renames those files in place on the user's own disk, with conflict detection, undo, and crash recovery. Everything runs entirely on your own Mac. It is distributed from twoplus11.com/renamr.
3. License
Personal License (Free)
We grant you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Aliasr on your personal computers for non-commercial purposes. Personal use means use by an individual for personal, non-revenue-generating activities. The personal tier is the complete application: there are no locked features, trial timers, or nag screens.
Commercial Use (Free)
You may also use Aliasr in connection with any business, employment, commercial, or revenue-generating activity, on as many computers as you like. There is no license to buy, no seat to count, and no account to create. It is the same complete application, with no locked features, trial timers, or watermarks.
Your license is personal and non-transferable. You may not transfer, sublicense, or assign it to another person or entity.
4. Restrictions
You agree not to:
- Distribute, sell, rent, lease, or sublicense Aliasr to any third party
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble Aliasr except where expressly permitted by applicable law
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
- Use Aliasr for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Use Aliasr to rename files you do not own or are not authorized to modify
5. Third-Party Components
Aliasr bundles the open-source PyObjC library, which it uses to talk to macOS. This and any other bundled open-source components are the property of their respective authors and are governed by their own licenses, the full texts of which ship inside the application. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under those licenses.
6. Intellectual Property
Aliasr, its design, original code, and all associated intellectual property rights (excluding the third-party components described above) are owned by twoplus11 LLC. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the application. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
7. Updates and Availability
We may release updates to Aliasr that add features, fix bugs, or change behavior. Updates are free for the lifetime of your license. We reserve the right to discontinue Aliasr at any time without notice, though existing downloads will remain functional.
8. Payments and Refunds
Aliasr is free, for personal and commercial use alike: there is nothing to buy, no license key to pay for and no subscription. A tip is the only thing this page will ever take payment for, and it is a voluntary gift rather than a purchase: it buys no feature, no license and no support commitment, and Aliasr is identical whether you leave one or not. Tips are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. Because a tip buys nothing, tips are not refundable, though if you tipped by mistake write to jeremy@twoplus11.com and we'll send it back.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
ALIASR IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ALIASR WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR MEET YOUR SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS. ALIASR RENAMES FILES ON YOUR DISK; ALTHOUGH IT IS ENGINEERED WITH CONFLICT DETECTION, TWO-PHASE RENAMES, UNDO LOGS, AND A CRASH-RECOVERY JOURNAL, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING BACKUPS OF YOUR FILES.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TWOPLUS11 LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF ALIASR SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR YOUR LICENSE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY DOLLARS ($50 USD).
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Missouri.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of Aliasr after any revision constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
