1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using WinKeyr, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use WinKeyr.
These Terms form a legal agreement between you and twoplus11 LLC, a Missouri limited liability company ("we," "us," or "our").
2. The Application
WinKeyr is a macOS keyboard remapper that brings Windows keyboard shortcuts to the Mac. It runs as a menu-bar app and rewrites key events in a CGEventTap before the frontmost app receives them — Ctrl becomes Cmd, Home and End move by line, Alt+Tab switches apps, and so on. It installs no kernel extension, no system extension and no driver. macOS requires Accessibility access for this, which you grant once per Mac and can withdraw at any time; until you grant it, WinKeyr remaps nothing. Keystrokes are rewritten in memory and are never recorded, written to disk or transmitted — WinKeyr is not a keylogger. Apps on your exclusion list are passed through untouched, and terminals ship excluded. Every rule is individually switchable, remapping can be paused or switched off entirely, and your settings can be exported to a file you choose and imported on another Mac. Everything runs entirely on your own Mac. It is distributed from twoplus11.com/winkeyr/.
3. License
Personal License (Free)
We grant you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use WinKeyr on your personal computers for non-commercial purposes. Personal use means use by an individual for personal, non-revenue-generating activities. The personal tier is the complete application — there are no locked features, trial timers, or nag screens.
Commercial License ($5 per device, one-time)
If you use WinKeyr in connection with any business, employment, commercial, or revenue-generating activity, you must purchase a Commercial License for each device on which WinKeyr is installed. A Commercial License covers one device for the lifetime of the software. You may purchase a Commercial License at twoplus11.com/winkeyr/#pricing.
Your license is personal and non-transferable. You may not transfer, sublicense, or assign it to another person or entity.
4. Restrictions
You agree not to:
- Distribute, sell, rent, lease, or sublicense WinKeyr to any third party
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble WinKeyr except where expressly permitted by applicable law
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
- Use WinKeyr for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Install or run WinKeyr on a computer you are not authorized to configure, or use it to change what another person’s keyboard does without their knowledge
5. Third-Party Components
WinKeyr is built entirely with Apple's own frameworks and bundles no third-party components. If any open-source component is ever added, it will remain the property of its respective authors and be governed by its own license, the full text of which would ship inside the application. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under any such license.
6. Intellectual Property
WinKeyr, its design, original code, and all associated intellectual property rights — excluding any third-party components — are owned by twoplus11 LLC. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the application. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
7. Updates and Availability
We may release updates to WinKeyr that add features, fix bugs, or change behavior. Updates are free for the lifetime of your license. We reserve the right to discontinue WinKeyr at any time without notice, though existing downloads will remain functional.
8. Payments and Refunds
Commercial License purchases are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. Your license key is emailed to you immediately after payment. All sales are final. If you experience a technical issue that prevents WinKeyr from working on your machine, contact us at jeremy@twoplus11.com and we'll work to resolve it or issue a refund at our discretion.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
WINKEYR IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT WINKEYR WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR MEET YOUR SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS. WINKEYR REWRITES KEYBOARD EVENTS SYSTEM-WIDE: AN APPLICATION MAY INTERPRET A REMAPPED SHORTCUT DIFFERENTLY THAN YOU INTEND, AND A DESTRUCTIVE COMMAND REACHED BY A REMAPPED SHORTCUT IS STILL DESTRUCTIVE. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR EXCLUDING ANY APPLICATION IN WHICH REMAPPING IS UNSAFE. REMAPPING DEPENDS ON ACCESSIBILITY ACCESS AND ON MACOS EVENT-TAP BEHAVIOUR, EITHER OF WHICH APPLE MAY CHANGE. WINKEYR IS NOT A SECURITY PRODUCT.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TWOPLUS11 LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF WINKEYR SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR YOUR LICENSE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY DOLLARS ($50 USD).
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Missouri.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of WinKeyr after any revision constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
