Terms of Service
1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Trimr for Windows, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Trimr.
These Terms form a legal agreement between you and twoplus11 LLC, a Missouri limited liability company ("we," "us," or "our").
2. The Application
Trimr is a Windows audio-editing application that trims, cuts, removes silence, normalizes loudness, fades, changes speed, joins, and converts audio, and creates iPhone ringtones, entirely on your own PC. Editing writes new files; Trimr does not modify the file you opened. It is distributed from twoplus11.com/trimr/windows.
3. Beta Software
THIS IS A PRE-RELEASE ("BETA") BUILD OF TRIMR FOR WINDOWS, MADE AVAILABLE FOR EVALUATION AND TESTING. IT MAY CONTAIN DEFECTS AND MAY BEHAVE UNEXPECTEDLY. DO NOT RELY ON IT AS THE SOLE SAFEGUARD FOR AUDIO YOU CANNOT LOSE: BEFORE YOU DELETE AN ORIGINAL FILE, VERIFY THE EXPORTED RESULT INDEPENDENTLY, AND KEEP BACKUPS OF ANY FILE YOU CARE ABOUT. WE MAY CHANGE, SUSPEND, OR WITHDRAW THE BETA AT ANY TIME.
Feedback you send us about the beta may be used to improve Trimr without restriction or obligation to you. Please do not include confidential material in a bug report. Send a description or a redacted example rather than a sensitive recording itself.
4. License
Personal License (Free)
We grant you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Trimr on your personal computers for non-commercial purposes. Personal use means use by an individual for personal, non-revenue-generating activities. The personal tier is the complete application: there are no locked features, trial timers, or watermarks.
Commercial Use (Free)
You may also use Trimr in connection with any business, employment, commercial, or revenue-generating activity, on as many computers as you like. There is no license to buy, no seat to count, and no account to create. It is the same complete application, with no locked features, trial timers, or watermarks.
Your license is personal and non-transferable. You may not transfer, sublicense, or assign it to another person or entity.
5. Restrictions
You agree not to:
- Distribute, sell, rent, lease, or sublicense Trimr to any third party
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble Trimr except where expressly permitted by applicable law
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
- Use Trimr for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Use Trimr to process content you do not have the right to process
6. Third-Party Components
Trimr bundles the open-source FFmpeg (licensed under the GPLv3) as a separate command-line tool used for audio analysis and export, and uses pywebview to draw its interface. Trimr also uses the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime, which is a Microsoft component governed by Microsoft's own terms. These components are the property of their respective authors and are governed by their own licenses, the full texts of which ship inside the application. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under those licenses.
7. Intellectual Property
Trimr, its design, original code, and all associated intellectual property rights (excluding the third-party components described above) are owned by twoplus11 LLC. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the application. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
8. Updates and Availability
We may release updates to Trimr that add features, fix bugs, or change behavior. Updates are free for the lifetime of your license. Trimr checks for updates automatically about once a week and tells you when one exists; nothing is downloaded or installed without your consent, and you can turn the check off entirely in the app. We reserve the right to discontinue Trimr at any time without notice, though existing installations will remain functional.
9. Payments and Refunds
Trimr is free, for personal and commercial use alike: there is nothing to buy, no license key to pay for and no subscription. A tip is the only thing this page will ever take payment for, and it is a voluntary gift rather than a purchase: it buys no feature, no license and no support commitment, and Trimr is identical whether you leave one or not. Tips are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. Because a tip buys nothing, tips are not refundable, though if you tipped by mistake write to jeremy@twoplus11.com and we'll send it back.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
TRIMR IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT TRIMR WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR MEET YOUR SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING EXPORTED FILES AND FOR KEEPING BACKUPS OF YOUR AUDIO.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TWOPLUS11 LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF TRIMR SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR YOUR LICENSE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY DOLLARS ($50 USD).
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Missouri.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of Trimr after any revision constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
