Privacy Policy
- Snapr moves windows entirely on your PC. It reads a window's position and size in order to set a new one, and nothing about your windows (app names, titles, or geometry) ever leaves your computer.
- No usage analytics, no accounts. Snapping, dragging and restoring layouts never touch the network. Snapr does keep some notes on your own PC (see section 2).
- The only thing the app ever sends us is a weekly check for a new version (see section 3). You can turn it off. If you buy a business license, that purchase happens here on the website (payment is handled by Stripe, and we never see your card number). Your windows are never involved.
1. Who We Are
Snapr is made by twoplus11 LLC, a Missouri limited liability company (twoplus11.com). When this policy says "we," "us," or "our," it means twoplus11 LLC.

2. Data We Do Not Collect
Snapr is built to be completely private:
- Your windows are yours. Windows lets an ordinary, non-elevated application reposition another application's windows through the standard Win32 window-management APIs. Unlike macOS, no special permission grant is needed. Snapr uses those APIs to read a window's frame and set a new one. Window contents are never read, and window titles are never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
- Ignored apps are left alone entirely. An app on your ignore list is never moved, resized, or inspected, and Snapr also skips windows on another virtual desktop, minimized windows, and windows belonging to an elevated (administrator) process, since it cannot and does not try to touch those.
- What Snapr stores on your PC. Your settings (shortcuts, gaps, step sizes, ignored apps and options) live in
%APPDATA%\Snapr\prefs.json. Any layouts you save live in%APPDATA%\Snapr\layouts.json: each records a window's owning app and its proportional frame (not pixel-exact coordinates and not window titles), which is what lets a 4K arrangement restore correctly onto a laptop screen, plus the hardware identity of the monitors it was captured on so it can be matched to the right desk automatically. Both files stay on your PC and are never transmitted. Settings export writes that same data to a file you choose, and only when you ask for it. - No usage analytics. The app does not report how you use it or track what you snap, drag, or restore. Its only request to us is the update check described in section 3, and you can turn it off.
- No accounts for personal use. Personal use needs no sign-up and no key. (Business-license validation is the one exception; see the next section.)
3. Data We Do Collect
Business-license purchases. If you buy a Business License, you enter your company name, work email, and number of computers in our checkout form. We receive your company name and email so we can deliver your license key and keep a record of the purchase. Payment is processed by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe, and we never see or store them.
License validation. When you activate a business license key, Snapr sends the license key and a one-way hash of a Windows machine identifier (a truncated SHA-256 that cannot be reversed) to our licensing server to verify the license. It also sends the device name you choose to show, so you can tell your own computers apart when managing seats. We never receive anything about your windows, your layouts, or what's open on your screen. These requests are hosted on Microsoft Azure, which may keep standard server access logs (such as IP address) for security and operational purposes. Snapr only makes these requests once a business key has been entered.
Update checks. Snapr checks whether a newer version exists: automatically about once a week (you can turn this off), or when you check manually. This is an ordinary HTTPS request to api.twoplus11.com identifying the app, the platform, and the version you are running; like any web request it also carries your IP address. We record that the check happened, with a one-way daily hash of that address rather than the address itself, together with the browser-style identifier your PC sends with any web request, so we can count how many installs are active. Nothing in it describes you or your windows. If you then choose to install the update, Snapr downloads the installer from twoplus11.com and verifies its digital signature and version before running it.
4. Where Snapr Stores Things on Your PC
Everything Snapr saves stays inside your own Windows user account, and none of it is transmitted:
- Preferences (your shortcuts, gaps, nudge/resize steps, ignored apps and options) in
%APPDATA%\Snapr\prefs.json. - Saved layouts (each window's owning app and proportional frame, plus the monitor hardware identities they were captured on) in
%APPDATA%\Snapr\layouts.json. Both preference and layout files are written atomically, so an interrupted write can't corrupt the file you already had; a file that does turn up corrupted is moved aside rather than silently overwritten or deleted. - Your business license key and its cached validation result, if you have one, in your user profile folder. The cache exists so the app keeps working for a period without a network connection.
- The application itself in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Snapr, or inC:\Program Files\Snaprif you chose to install it for everyone who uses the PC. - Launch-at-login, if you enable it, as a single value under the
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Runregistry key, and nowhere else in the registry.
Uninstalling removes the application and that registry value. If you want every trace gone, delete the files above as well.
5. If You Contact Us
If you email us (for support, beta feedback, or a question about your business license), we receive your email address and whatever you choose to put in your message. If you submit our report form and attach a screenshot, we receive that too. We use this information only to reply to you and to fix the problem. We do not sell or share it.
6. Downloading the App
Snapr is downloaded from our website, which is hosted by a third-party web host. Like any website, the host may keep standard server access logs (such as IP address) for security and operational purposes. This happens at the web-server level when you visit the download page. The Snapr application itself does not transmit anything.
7. Children's Privacy
Snapr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Your Rights
If you are in the European Union, United Kingdom, or California, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. The only personal data we hold is what you send us by email and, for business-license holders, the company name and email tied to your purchase. You can exercise these rights by contacting jeremy@twoplus11.com. We will respond within 30 days. Deleting your business-license record will deactivate the license.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page when we do. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
