Privacy Policy
- Shelfr reads, converts, and sends your ebooks entirely on your Mac. Nothing about your books — titles, authors, covers, or the files themselves — ever leaves your computer.
- No usage analytics, no accounts. Shelfr keeps a small library index on your own Mac so your shelf survives a relaunch; that index is never uploaded.
- The only thing the Shelfr app ever sends us is a weekly check for a new version, which we count — see section 3. You can turn it off. If you buy a commercial license, that purchase happens here on the website (payment is handled by Stripe — we never see your card number). Your books are never involved.
1. Who We Are
Shelfr is made by twoplus11 LLC, a Missouri limited liability company (twoplus11.com). When this policy says "we," "us," or "our," it means twoplus11 LLC.

2. Data We Do Not Collect
Shelfr is built to be completely private:
- Your books are yours. Everything Shelfr does — reading a cover and author out of an EPUB, converting between formats, copying a book to a reader — happens locally on your Mac. No book, filename, cover, title, or author is ever uploaded to us or anyone else.
- The library index stays on your Mac. So your shelf is still there next time you open the app, Shelfr saves a small index of your books (their file paths, titles, authors, and cached cover images) in the app's own folder under Application Support on your Mac. This never leaves your computer, and you can delete it at any time by removing the app's Application Support folder.
- No usage analytics. The app does not report usage or track what you read or send. Its only request to us is the update check described in section 3, and you can turn it off.
- No accounts at all. Shelfr needs no sign-up and no key — there is no login screen and no activation step, for personal or commercial use.
- Converting a book is local, too. Native conversions run inside the app. If you convert to a Kindle format and have the free, third-party Calibre installed, Shelfr runs Calibre's converter as a local process on your Mac — no network is involved, and we receive nothing about it.
3. Data We Do Collect
Commercial-license purchases. If you buy a Commercial License, you enter your company name, work email, and number of devices in our checkout. We receive your company name and email so we can deliver your license key and keep a record of the purchase. Payment is processed by Stripe — your card details go straight to Stripe, and we never see or store them.
Licensing tells us nothing. Your license key is emailed to you as the record of your purchase — there is no activation step and nothing to enter, so installing a commercial license sends us nothing and tells us nothing about your Mac or your books.
Update checks. Shelfr checks whether a newer version exists — automatically about once a week, and whenever you check manually. You can switch the automatic check off. The request goes to api.twoplus11.com and identifies the app and the version you are running; like any web request, it also carries your IP address. It says nothing about your Mac, your readers, or your books.
What we record when it checks. We log each check, so that we can tell roughly how many people still use the app: which app it was, the version reported, the date, the user-agent string, and a salted hash of your IP address — never the address itself, and the salt changes every day. Nothing in that record is tied to your name, an account, or a license. If you go on to install the update, that download is counted the same way. This is the only thing the app ever sends us.
4. If You Contact Us
If you email us — for support or a question about your commercial license — we receive your email address and whatever you choose to put in your message. We use that information only to reply to you. We do not sell or share it.
5. Downloading the App
Shelfr is downloaded from our website, which is hosted by a third-party web host. Like any website, the host may keep standard server access logs (such as IP address) for security and operational purposes. This happens at the web-server level when you visit the download page — the Shelfr application itself does not transmit anything about your books.
6. Children's Privacy
Shelfr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Your Rights
If you are in the European Union, United Kingdom, or California, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. The only personal data we hold is what you send us by email and, for commercial-license holders, the company name and email tied to your purchase. You can exercise these rights by contacting jeremy@twoplus11.com. We will respond within 30 days. Your commercial-license record is what evidences the license, so deleting it also ends the license.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page when we do. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
