Terms of Service
1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Redlinr for Windows, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Redlinr.
These Terms form a legal agreement between you and twoplus11 LLC, a Missouri limited liability company ("we," "us," or "our").
2. The Application
Redlinr is a Windows application that compares an Original and a Revised document (Word .docx, PDF, RTF, ODT, HTML, Markdown, or plain text) into a visual redline, entirely on your own PC. It is distributed from twoplus11.com/redlinr/windows.
3. Beta Software
THIS IS A PRE-RELEASE ("BETA") BUILD OF REDLINR FOR WINDOWS, MADE AVAILABLE FOR EVALUATION AND TESTING. IT MAY CONTAIN DEFECTS AND MAY BEHAVE UNEXPECTEDLY. DO NOT RELY ON IT AS THE SOLE REVIEW OF A DOCUMENT WHERE A MISSED CHANGE WOULD MATTER: BEFORE ACTING ON A REDLINE FOR A LEASE, CONTRACT, OR OTHER DOCUMENT THAT MATTERS, VERIFY THE RESULT INDEPENDENTLY, AND KEEP YOUR OWN COPIES OF ANY DOCUMENT YOU COMPARE. WE MAY CHANGE, SUSPEND, OR WITHDRAW THE BETA AT ANY TIME.
Feedback you send us about the beta may be used to improve Redlinr without restriction or obligation to you. Please do not include confidential material in a bug report. Send a description or a redacted example rather than the sensitive document itself.
4. License
Personal License (Free)
We grant you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Redlinr on your personal computers for non-commercial purposes. Personal use means use by an individual for personal, non-revenue-generating activities. The personal tier is the complete application. There are no locked features, trial timers, or watermarks.
Commercial Use (Free)
If you use Redlinr in connection with any business, employment, commercial, or revenue-generating activity, you must purchase a Business License for each computer on which Redlinr is installed. A Business License covers one computer for the lifetime of the software. You may purchase a Business License at twoplus11.com/redlinr/windows/#pricing.
Your license is personal and non-transferable. You may not transfer, sublicense, or assign it to another person or entity.
5. Restrictions
You agree not to:
- Distribute, sell, rent, lease, or sublicense Redlinr to any third party
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble Redlinr except where expressly permitted by applicable law
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
- Use Redlinr for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Use Redlinr to process content you do not have the right to process
6. Third-Party Components
Redlinr bundles open-source components (including pywebview, pypdf, and striprtf) used to draw the app window and to read PDF and RTF documents. Redlinr also uses the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime, which is a Microsoft component governed by Microsoft's own terms. These components are the property of their respective authors and are governed by their own licenses, the full texts of which ship inside the application. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under those licenses.
7. Intellectual Property
Redlinr, its design, original code, and all associated intellectual property rights (excluding the third-party components described above) are owned by twoplus11 LLC. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the application. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
8. Updates and Availability
We may release updates to Redlinr that add features, fix bugs, or change behavior. Updates are free for the lifetime of your license. Redlinr checks for updates automatically about once a week and tells you when one exists; nothing is downloaded or installed without your consent, and you can turn the check off entirely in the app. We reserve the right to discontinue Redlinr at any time without notice, though existing installations will remain functional.
9. Payments and Refunds
Business License purchases are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. Your license key is emailed to you immediately after payment. All sales are final. If you experience a technical issue that prevents Redlinr from working on your machine, contact us at jeremy@twoplus11.com and we'll work to resolve it or issue a refund at our discretion.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
REDLINR IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT REDLINR WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR DETECT EVERY POSSIBLE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TWO DOCUMENTS OF EVERY FORMAT. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR INDEPENDENTLY VERIFYING CHANGES IN SENSITIVE DOCUMENTS AND FOR KEEPING BACKUPS OF YOUR FILES.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TWOPLUS11 LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF REDLINR SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR YOUR LICENSE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY DOLLARS ($50 USD).
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Missouri.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of Redlinr after any revision constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
