Terms of Service
1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Pulsr for Windows, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Pulsr.
These Terms form a legal agreement between you and twoplus11 LLC, a Missouri limited liability company ("we," "us," or "our").
2. The Application
Pulsr is a Windows system-tray application that displays live CPU, memory, network, disk, and battery readings, and identifies which applications are using the most memory or CPU, entirely on your own PC. It can also act on what it finds: it can ask an application to close (a normal close request, posted as WM_CLOSE to that application's own windows, which the application may refuse or use to prompt you to save), and it can bring an application's window to the foreground. It is distributed from twoplus11.com/pulsr/windows.
3. Beta Software
THIS IS A PRE-RELEASE ("BETA") BUILD OF PULSR FOR WINDOWS, MADE AVAILABLE FOR EVALUATION AND TESTING. IT MAY CONTAIN DEFECTS AND MAY BEHAVE UNEXPECTEDLY, INCLUDING SHOWING INACCURATE READINGS OR ASKING AN APPLICATION TO CLOSE WHEN YOU DID NOT INTEND IT TO. DO NOT RELY ON IT AS YOUR ONLY WAY OF MONITORING A MACHINE THAT MATTERS TO YOU, AND ALWAYS SAVE YOUR WORK BEFORE ASKING ANY APPLICATION TO CLOSE. WE MAY CHANGE, SUSPEND, OR WITHDRAW THE BETA AT ANY TIME.
Feedback you send us about the beta may be used to improve Pulsr without restriction or obligation to you.
4. License
Personal License (Free)
We grant you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Pulsr on your personal computers for non-commercial purposes. Personal use means use by an individual for personal, non-revenue-generating activities. The personal tier is the complete application. There are no locked features, trial timers, or nag screens.
Commercial Use (Free)
You may also use Pulsr in connection with any business, employment, commercial, or revenue-generating activity, on as many computers as you like. There is no license to buy, no seat to count, and no account to create. It is the same complete application, with no locked features, trial timers, or watermarks.
Your license is personal and non-transferable. You may not transfer, sublicense, or assign it to another person or entity.
5. Restrictions
You agree not to:
- Distribute, sell, rent, lease, or sublicense Pulsr to any third party
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble Pulsr except where expressly permitted by applicable law
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
- Use Pulsr for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Use Pulsr to monitor a computer you do not own or are not authorized to administer
6. Third-Party Components
Pulsr bundles open-source components (including psutil, pywebview, pystray, pythonnet and the Pillow imaging library) used to read system counters, draw the interface, and manage the notification-area icon. Pulsr also uses the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime, which is a Microsoft component governed by Microsoft's own terms. These components are the property of their respective authors and are governed by their own licenses, the full texts of which ship inside the application. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under those licenses.
7. Intellectual Property
Pulsr, its design, original code, and all associated intellectual property rights (excluding the third-party components described above) are owned by twoplus11 LLC. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the application. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
8. Updates and Availability
We may release updates to Pulsr that add features, fix bugs, or change behavior. Updates are free for the lifetime of your license. Pulsr checks for updates periodically and tells you when one exists; nothing is downloaded or installed without your consent, and you can turn the check off entirely in the app. We reserve the right to discontinue Pulsr at any time without notice, though existing installations will remain functional.
9. Payments and Refunds
Pulsr is free, for personal and commercial use alike: there is nothing to buy, no license key to pay for and no subscription. A tip is the only thing this page will ever take payment for, and it is a voluntary gift rather than a purchase: it buys no feature, no license and no support commitment, and Pulsr is identical whether you leave one or not. Tips are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. Because a tip buys nothing, tips are not refundable, though if you tipped by mistake write to jeremy@twoplus11.com and we'll send it back.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
PULSR IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT PULSR WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR MEET YOUR SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS. THE READINGS PULSR DISPLAYS ARE INFORMATIONAL AND ARE NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL DIAGNOSIS OF A HARDWARE FAULT. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR SAVING YOUR WORK BEFORE ASKING ANY APPLICATION TO CLOSE.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TWOPLUS11 LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF PULSR SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR YOUR LICENSE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY DOLLARS ($50 USD).
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Missouri.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of Pulsr after any revision constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
