v1.2.1 beta · Windows 10 (1809+) & 11 · 64-bit · Installs without admin rights · No account

How it works

Paste it. Pick it. Grab it.

Paste or drop a link
Copy a link from YouTube, TikTok, Vimeo, or any of 1,800+ sites. Press Ctrl V inside Grabbr to paste instantly, or drag the link straight onto the window. A whole list of links, or a .txt file of them, queues them all at once.
Choose your format
Pick Video (MP4) or Audio (MP3), and a quality preset: Best Quality, 4K, 1080p, or lower. Smart Trim kicks in automatically for YouTube videos.
Hit Download
Press ↵ or click Download Now. Grabbr queues it. Run up to 3 downloads in parallel, or leave it at one-at-a-time.
Find your file
The finished file lands in your Downloads folder (or wherever you chose), sponsor segments already cut, subtitles attached if you asked for them, ready to play.

Features

Everything you need. Nothing you don't.

Grabbr wraps the industry-standard yt-dlp engine (plus ffmpeg and the SponsorBlock database) in a clean native Windows interface.

1,800+ Sites
YouTube, TikTok, Vimeo, Twitter/X, Instagram, Twitch, Reddit, Facebook, Dailymotion, Bilibili, and thousands more. If yt-dlp supports the site, Grabbr downloads from it.
Smart Trim
Finds sponsor segments, self-promotion, intros and outros in YouTube videos using the community-tagged SponsorBlock database, and cuts them out before the file is ever saved to your disk.
YouTube Only
MP3 Extraction
Switch to Audio mode for high-quality MP3 extraction with cover art embedded automatically. Good for podcasts, music, and lecture recordings.
Playlists, Channels & Bulk Links
Queue an entire playlist or channel in one paste, or drop a list of links (even a .txt file of them) and Grabbr adds every one. Duplicates already in your history are skipped automatically.
A Queue That Keeps Up
Run up to 3 downloads in parallel instead of waiting in line. Quit with downloads still waiting and Grabbr remembers. Next launch it offers to pick up right where you left off.
A History That Sorts
Every download you've made, sortable by title, site, date or size, and searchable. Export the whole thing as JSON whenever you want it.
Clip by Timestamp
Only need part of a video? Set a start and end point and Grabbr downloads just that section instead of the whole thing.
Quality Control
Choose Best Quality, 4K, 1080p, 720p, 480p or 360p for video; Best Quality (VBR), 320, 192 or 128 kbps for audio. Grabbr merges separate video and audio streams automatically.
Subtitles
Download human or auto-generated subtitles as .srt files alongside your video, in the language (or languages) you choose.
Cookies for Restricted Content
For members-only, age-restricted or login-walled videos, point Grabbr at a cookies.txt file exported from your browser. Windows keeps browser cookie stores encrypted in a way Grabbr can't read automatically, so this is a deliberate opt-in file picker rather than the one-click browser detection the Mac build offers.
Windows-specific
Browser Extension
Install Grabbr's extension unpacked in Chrome, Brave or Edge, then click its toolbar icon on any video page, or press Ctrl Shift Y to skip the popup entirely. The URL goes straight to Grabbr, no copy-paste. It isn't in the Chrome Web Store yet, so setup is a few extra clicks; the in-app + Extension guide walks you through it.
13 Languages
German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Turkish and Simplified Chinese, detected from your Windows display language automatically, or pinned from the sidebar picker.
Keyboard-First
Ctrl V pastes and focuses. ↵ downloads. Ctrl Shift Y sends a link from your browser. Press ? for the full shortcut cheat-sheet. No mouse required.
Built for everyone
Full keyboard path with a visible focus ring, a skip link past the sidebar, live status announcements, Windows High Contrast support, reflow with no horizontal scrolling, and measured WCAG 2.1 AA contrast in light and dark.

Beta

You're testing Grabbr's first public Windows build.

Grabbr has been on the Mac for a while. This Windows build shares its engine (yt-dlp, ffmpeg, SponsorBlock), but almost everything around it was fit to Windows on its own terms, right down to how it can (and can't) read your browser's cookies.

What would help most

Real links, real sites

Playlists, channel pages, shorts, live VODs, members-only videos: paste what you'd actually download and see what happens.

Downloads, trims & subtitles

Does Smart Trim cut the segments it should? Do subtitles land in the language you asked for? Does the quality you picked match the file you got?

The browser extension

Loading it unpacked into Chrome, Brave or Edge, and whether Ctrl Shift Y and Send to Grabbr reliably wake the app.

The install itself

Whether SmartScreen let you through, whether the shortcut and taskbar icon look right, whether uninstall leaves anything behind.

Download & install

Get set up in about a minute.

Run the installer and Grabbr lands in your own user folder: no admin password, no UAC prompt, nothing else to install.

Download Grabbr for Windows, Free

Version 1.2.1 beta · Grabbr-Setup.exe · about 120 MB (bundles yt-dlp and ffmpeg) · Free updates forever

Windows 10 (version 1809 or later) or Windows 11 · 64-bit
Everything Grabbr needs (including yt-dlp and ffmpeg) is inside the installer, so there's nothing separate to chase down. It does use the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime to draw its interface, which ships with Windows 11 and reaches almost every Windows 10 machine through Windows Update. On the rare PC without it, Grabbr will say so on launch and Microsoft's free installer is a one-click fix.
No admin rights needed
Grabbr installs per-user into %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Grabbr, so there's no UAC prompt and no argument with your IT department. Uninstall from Settings → Apps → Installed apps like anything else.
Windows may warn you the first time. Here's the honest story.
Grabbr is Authenticode-signed, so the publisher shows as a real, verified name rather than "Unknown publisher." But signing alone does not switch SmartScreen off: Microsoft builds reputation per file, and a brand-new build starts with none. Until this exact file has been downloaded enough times, you may still see a blue "Windows protected your PC" box.
  1. Click More info
  2. Check the publisher name shown
  3. Click Run anyway
I'd rather tell you this up front than have you wonder. Never click through that box for software you don't trust the source of.

FAQ

Common questions.

Is this legal?
Downloading videos for personal use is legal in most jurisdictions. Always respect copyright and a platform's Terms of Service. Don't redistribute downloaded content.
Does Grabbr require an internet connection?
Yes, to download videos. Business license keys are validated online. If you're offline, Grabbr uses a 72-hour cached validation grace period. Personal use needs no license at all.
How does the business license work?
Buy a seat for each computer that uses Grabbr at work ($10 each, one-time). You get a single license key by email. Paste it into Grabbr on each machine and you're done. Each machine claims a seat under its own name, so you can see who holds what and free a seat anytime when a computer is retired. Personal use needs no key at all.
What happens when YouTube changes things?
Grabbr uses yt-dlp under the hood. Clicking Update yt-dlp in the app's footer is usually all that's needed to fix any extraction issues. Grabbr also offers it contextually as "Update yt-dlp & retry" right on a failed download. Updates are free forever.
How does Smart Trim work?
Grabbr uses the SponsorBlock community database to find sponsor segments, intros, outros, and other filler in YouTube videos, and cuts them out before the file is saved to your disk. Smart Trim only runs on YouTube: there's nowhere else with a segment database like it to draw from.
How do I set up the browser extension?
It isn't in the Chrome Web Store yet, so it installs "unpacked": open Grabbr, click + Extension, and the app walks you through enabling Developer mode in Chrome, Brave or Edge and pointing it at the extension folder. From then on, click the Grabbr icon on any video page and hit Send to Grabbr, or press Ctrl Shift Y to skip the popup entirely. The URL goes straight to the app, no copy-paste. If the extension ever goes missing or falls out of date, the footer's Reinstall Ext button puts a fresh copy back and reopens the folder for you.
Can Grabbr download from Netflix, Disney+, or Spotify?
No. These services use DRM (Digital Rights Management) encryption that yt-dlp cannot legally bypass. Grabbr works with platforms that stream video openly: YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, Twitch, and 1,800+ others. Spotify audio is also DRM-protected; SoundCloud and Bandcamp are not.
How do I update Grabbr itself?
It updates itself. Grabbr checks periodically and badges the update control when there's something new. Click it and Grabbr downloads the new installer, verifies its signature and version before running anything, installs over itself and reopens. If any of those checks fail it deletes the download and sends you here instead. You can turn the automatic check off, and your preferences and history carry over. Separately, the download engine (yt-dlp) updates itself from the app footer. That's the faster fix for a YouTube extraction error and is not an app update.
How is this different from the Mac version?
Same engine, same download and Smart Trim guarantees. This build was fit to Windows rather than simply ported. Two differences worth knowing: cookie-based access to restricted content is a manual cookies.txt import here rather than the automatic browser detection the Mac build does, because Windows encrypts browser cookie stores in a way Grabbr can't silently read; and the browser extension installs unpacked into Chrome, Brave or Edge rather than through Safari or Firefox. A business license key works on both.
