Privacy Policy
- Diskr scans disk and file-structure information (folder names, file names, sizes and paths) entirely on your PC. It only ever sees the drives and folders you point it at, and nothing about them ever leaves your computer.
- No usage analytics, no accounts. Scanning, browsing the sunburst, and moving something to the Recycle Bin never touch the network.
- The only times Diskr contacts our servers: if you buy and activate a commercial license (payment is handled by Stripe; we never see your card number), or if it checks for updates (which we count; see “Update checks” below). Your files, folders and disks are never involved.
1. Who We Are
Diskr is made by twoplus11 LLC, a Missouri limited liability company (twoplus11.com). When this policy says "we," "us," or "our," it means twoplus11 LLC.

2. Data We Do Not Collect
Diskr is built to be completely private, and because it works by reading the structure of your disk, we want to be specific about exactly what that means:
- What Diskr reads. To draw the sunburst, Diskr reads the structure of the drive or folder you point it at (file and folder names, sizes, and paths) plus enough filesystem metadata to detect junctions, symlinks and hardlinks so it doesn't double-count them. It does not open, read the contents of, or inspect what's inside your files.
- None of that structure ever leaves your PC. Every scan, every sunburst, and every size calculation happens locally. No file name, folder name, path, or size is ever uploaded to us or anyone else.
- Your files are never modified. Scanning only reads; Diskr never opens, edits, or moves a file on its own. The one destructive action (Delete) moves an item to the Recycle Bin only when you explicitly choose it, after a confirmation dialog, and never as a hard delete.
- Nothing about your disk is written down beyond your own PC. Diskr keeps no scan history and no database: close it and the map of your disk is gone. It does remember a few settings between launches (language, light/dark preference, whether automatic update checks are on, and a short list of recently scanned folder paths) in your own Windows user profile. None of that is transmitted anywhere.
- No usage analytics. The app does not report how you use it or track what you scan or delete.
- No accounts for personal use. Personal use needs no sign-up and no key. (Commercial-license validation is the one exception; see the next section.)
3. Data We Do Collect
Commercial-license purchases. If you buy a Commercial License, you enter your company name, work email, and number of devices in our checkout form. We receive your company name and email so we can deliver your license key and keep a record of the purchase. Payment is processed by Stripe: your card details go straight to Stripe, and we never see or store them.
License validation. When you activate a commercial license key, Diskr sends the license key and a one-way hash of a Windows machine identifier (a truncated SHA-256 that cannot be reversed) to our licensing server to verify the license. It also sends the device name you choose to show, so you can tell your own computers apart when managing seats, and the app version. We never receive anything about your files, folders, or disks. These requests are hosted on Microsoft Azure, which may keep standard server access logs (such as IP address) for security and operational purposes. Diskr only makes these requests once a commercial key has been entered.
Update checks. Diskr checks whether a newer version exists: automatically about once a week (you can turn this off), or when you check manually. This is an ordinary HTTPS request to api.twoplus11.com identifying the app, the platform, and the version you are running; like any web request it also carries your IP address. We record that the check happened, with a one-way daily hash of that address rather than the address itself, together with the browser-style identifier your PC sends with any web request, so we can count how many installs are active. Nothing in it describes you or your disk. If you then choose to install the update, Diskr downloads the installer from twoplus11.com and verifies its digital signature and version before running it.
4. Where Diskr Stores Things on Your PC
Everything Diskr saves stays inside your own Windows user account, and none of it is transmitted:
- Preferences and your recent-scans list (language, theme, whether the automatic update check is on, and the paths of folders you've recently scanned, not their contents) in
%APPDATA%\Diskr. - Your commercial license key and its cached validation result, if you have one, in your user profile folder. The cache exists so the app keeps working for a period without a network connection.
- The application itself in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Diskr, or inC:\Program Files\Diskrif you chose to install it for everyone who uses the PC.
Uninstalling removes the application, but deliberately leaves %APPDATA%\Diskr in place: that folder is your preferences and recent-scans list, not part of the program, so a reinstall finds your settings intact. Delete it yourself, along with your license files, if you want every trace gone.
5. If You Contact Us
If you email us (for support, beta feedback, or a question about your commercial license), we receive your email address and whatever you choose to put in your message. If you submit our report form and attach a screenshot, we receive that too. We use this information only to reply to you and to fix the problem. We do not sell or share it.
6. Downloading the App
Diskr is downloaded from our website, which is hosted by a third-party web host. Like any website, the host may keep standard server access logs (such as IP address) for security and operational purposes. This happens at the web-server level when you visit the download page. The Diskr application itself does not transmit anything.
7. Children's Privacy
Diskr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Your Rights
If you are in the European Union, United Kingdom, or California, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. The only personal data we hold is what you send us by email and, for commercial-license holders, the company name and email tied to your purchase. You can exercise these rights by contacting jeremy@twoplus11.com. We will respond within 30 days. Deleting your commercial-license record will deactivate the license.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page when we do. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
