Privacy Policy
- Copyr copies files entirely on your Mac. It only ever sees the files you hand it, and nothing about them — names, sizes, paths, contents — ever leaves your computer.
- No usage analytics, no accounts. Copying never touches the network, and nothing about your files is ever sent to a server. Copyr does keep some notes on your own Mac — see section 2.
- The only thing the Copyr app ever sends us is a weekly check for a new version, which we count — see section 3. You can turn it off. If you buy a commercial license, that purchase happens here on the website (payment is handled by Stripe — we never see your card number). Your files are never involved.
1. Who We Are
Copyr is made by twoplus11 LLC, a Missouri limited liability company (twoplus11.com). When this policy says "we," "us," or "our," it means twoplus11 LLC.

2. Data We Do Not Collect
Copyr is built to be completely private:
- Your files are yours. Copyr only accesses the files you hand it and the destination you choose, and everything it does — reading, writing, checksumming — happens locally on your Mac. No file, filename, path, or size is ever uploaded to us or anyone else.
- Your originals are never modified. Copyr reads your source files and writes copies at the destination you chose. It never edits, moves, or deletes a source file — version 1.0 has no move or delete operation at all.
- What Copyr stores on your Mac. So that an interrupted copy can be resumed, Copyr records unfinished jobs — including the source and destination paths — in
~/Library/Application Support/Copyr/Jobs/, and it remembers your settings in its preferences file. Both live on your Mac only and are never transmitted. A job's record is deleted when it finishes or you discard it, and you can delete that folder yourself at any time; the only thing you lose is the ability to resume a copy that was already interrupted. - No usage analytics. The app does not report usage or track what you do with your files. Its only request to us is the update check described in section 3, and you can turn it off.
- No accounts at all. Copyr needs no sign-up and no key — there is no login screen and no activation step, for personal or commercial use.
3. Data We Do Collect
Commercial-license purchases. If you buy a Commercial License, you enter your company name, work email, and number of devices in our checkout form. We receive your company name and email so we can deliver your license key and keep a record of the purchase. Payment is processed by Stripe — your card details go straight to Stripe, and we never see or store them.
Licensing tells us nothing. Your license key is emailed to you as the record of your purchase — there is no activation step and nothing to enter, so installing a commercial license sends us nothing and tells us nothing about your Mac or your files.
Update checks. Copyr checks whether a newer version exists — automatically about once a week, and whenever you check manually. You can switch the automatic check off. The request goes to api.twoplus11.com and identifies the app and the version you are running; like any web request, it also carries your IP address. It says nothing about your Mac, your disks, or your files.
What we record when it checks. We log each check, so that we can tell roughly how many people still use the app: which app it was, the version reported, the date, the user-agent string, and a salted hash of your IP address — never the address itself, and the salt changes every day. Nothing in that record is tied to your name, an account, or a license. If you go on to install the update, that download is counted the same way. This is the only thing the app ever sends us.
4. If You Contact Us
If you email us — for support or a question about your commercial license — we receive your email address and whatever you choose to put in your message. We use that information only to reply to you. We do not sell or share it.
5. Downloading the App
Copyr is downloaded from our website, which is hosted by a third-party web host. Like any website, the host may keep standard server access logs (such as IP address) for security and operational purposes. This happens at the web-server level when you visit the download page — the Copyr application itself does not transmit anything.
6. Children's Privacy
Copyr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Your Rights
If you are in the European Union, United Kingdom, or California, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. The only personal data we hold is what you send us by email and, for commercial-license holders, the company name and email tied to your purchase. You can exercise these rights by contacting jeremy@twoplus11.com. We will respond within 30 days. Your commercial-license record is what evidences the license, so deleting it also ends the license.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page when we do. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
