Terms of Service

Effective date: August 19, 2026  ·  twoplus11 LLC  ·  Anchr for Windows

1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Anchr for Windows, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Anchr.

These Terms form a legal agreement between you and twoplus11 LLC, a Missouri limited liability company ("we," "us," or "our").

2. The Application

Anchr is a Windows utility that holds your audio device choices in place. It reads the list of audio devices your PC can see and sets which of them Windows treats as the default for Playback, for the Microphone, and separately for both Calls roles, according to an ordered preference you configure. It requires no system permissions, opens no audio streams, and captures no audio. It runs entirely on your PC; the network requests it makes are an optional check for a newer version and, if you activate one, a business-license check.

3. Beta Software

THIS IS A PRE-RELEASE ("BETA") BUILD OF ANCHR FOR WINDOWS, MADE AVAILABLE FOR EVALUATION AND TESTING. IT MAY CONTAIN DEFECTS AND MAY BEHAVE UNEXPECTEDLY. DO NOT RELY ON IT AS THE SOLE SAFEGUARD FOR ANY RECORDING, BROADCAST, PERFORMANCE OR CALL WHERE THE WRONG AUDIO DEVICE WOULD MATTER: VERIFY YOUR ACTUAL PLAYBACK AND MICROPHONE DEVICE BEFORE ANYTHING THAT COUNTS. WE MAY CHANGE, SUSPEND, OR WITHDRAW THE BETA AT ANY TIME.

Feedback you send us about the beta may be used to improve Anchr without restriction or obligation to you.

4. License

Personal License (Free)

We grant you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Anchr on your personal computers for non-commercial purposes. Personal use means use by an individual for personal, non-revenue-generating activities. The personal tier is the complete application: there are no locked features, trial timers, or nag screens.

Commercial Use (Free)

If you use Anchr in connection with any business, employment, commercial, or revenue-generating activity, you must purchase a Business License for each computer on which Anchr is installed. A Business License covers one computer for the lifetime of the software, and the same key is valid for both the Windows and macOS builds. You may purchase a Business License at twoplus11.com/anchr/windows/#pricing.

Your license is personal and non-transferable. You may not transfer, sublicense, or assign it to another person or entity.

5. Restrictions

You agree not to:

6. Third-Party Components

Unlike the macOS build, which is native SwiftUI with no bundled third-party code, Anchr for Windows bundles open-source components, including pywebview (the application window), pythonnet (.NET interop for the Windows UI backend), pystray (the system tray icon) and the Pillow imaging library (icon rendering), used to draw the interface and its tray icon. Anchr also uses the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime, which is a Microsoft component governed by Microsoft's own terms. These components are the property of their respective authors and are governed by their own licenses, the full texts of which ship inside the application. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under those licenses.

7. Intellectual Property

Anchr, its design, original code, and all associated intellectual property rights (excluding the third-party components described above) are owned by twoplus11 LLC. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the application. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

8. Updates and Availability

We may release updates to Anchr that add features, fix bugs, or change behavior. Updates are free for the lifetime of your license. Anchr checks for updates periodically and tells you when one exists; nothing is downloaded or installed without triggering that update flow inside the app. We reserve the right to discontinue Anchr at any time without notice, though existing installations will remain functional.

9. Payments and Refunds

Business License purchases are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. Your license key is emailed to you immediately after payment. All sales are final. If you experience a technical issue that prevents Anchr from working on your machine, contact us at jeremy@twoplus11.com and we'll work to resolve it or issue a refund at our discretion.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

ANCHR IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANCHR WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR MEET YOUR SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS. ANCHR SETS THE SYSTEM DEFAULT AUDIO DEVICE THROUGH AN UNDOCUMENTED WINDOWS POLICY INTERFACE: A DEVICE MAY REFUSE, IGNORE OR DELAY A REQUESTED CHANGE, AND ANOTHER APPLICATION MAY CHANGE THE SAME SETTING AT ANY TIME. ANCHR DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT A PARTICULAR DEVICE WILL BE SELECTED AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT, AND YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CONFIRMING YOUR AUDIO SETUP BEFORE ANY RECORDING, BROADCAST, PERFORMANCE OR CALL THAT MATTERS. ANCHR DEPENDS ON WINDOWS AUDIO BEHAVIOUR, WHICH MICROSOFT MAY CHANGE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TWOPLUS11 LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF ANCHR SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR YOUR LICENSE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY DOLLARS ($50 USD).

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Missouri.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of Anchr after any revision constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
