Privacy Policy
- Anchr chooses which audio device your PC uses, entirely on your PC. It reads the list of devices and sets which one Windows treats as the default. Nothing about your devices ever leaves your machine.
- It has no microphone access, and cannot get any. Anchr picks which microphone your other apps record from. It never opens an audio stream and contains no code that could (see section 2).
- The only things the Anchr app ever sends us are an update check and, if you buy a business license, the activation request that license needs (see section 3). Payment itself is handled by Stripe.
1. Who We Are
Anchr is made by twoplus11 LLC, a Missouri limited liability company (twoplus11.com). When this policy says "we," "us," or "our," it means twoplus11 LLC.

2. Data We Do Not Collect
Anchr is built to be completely private:
- No microphone access. None. Anchr asks Windows for no permission of any kind, because none is needed: enumerating audio devices and setting the system default are unprivileged calls. Capturing audio is the thing that needs permission, and Anchr contains no capture code. It chooses which microphone your other apps record from and never opens one itself.
- Your audio is never touched. Anchr moves a system setting: a number identifying a device. It does not process, record, route, mix or listen to any audio, and no sound passes through it.
- What Anchr stores on your PC. Your ordered device preferences for Playback, Microphone and both Calls roles; the devices you have told it never to use; your switches; and the last-seen name of each device, so one that is currently unplugged can still be shown by name. All of it lives in
%APPDATA%\Anchron your own PC, and Settings can export it to a file you control or reset it entirely. - No usage analytics. The app does not report how you use it or track what you do. Its only requests to us are the update check and, if you activate one, a business-license check, both described in section 3.
- No accounts at all. Anchr needs no sign-up for personal use. There is no login screen, for personal or business use.
3. Data We Do Collect
Business-license purchases. If you buy a Business License, you enter your company name, work email, and number of devices in our checkout form. We receive your company name and email so we can deliver your license key and keep a record of the purchase. Payment is processed by Stripe: your card details go straight to Stripe, and we never see or store them.
License activation. When you activate a business license key inside Anchr, it sends the license key, the app version, a one-way hash of a Windows machine identifier (a truncated SHA-256 that cannot be reversed back into the original identifier), and the device name you choose to show, so you can tell your own computers apart when managing licenses. We never receive anything about your audio devices, your files, or what Anchr is routing. These requests are hosted on Microsoft Azure, which may keep standard server access logs (such as IP address) for security and operational purposes. Anchr only makes this request once a business key has been entered.
Update checks. Anchr periodically checks whether a newer version exists, and whenever you check manually. This is an ordinary HTTPS request that identifies the app and the version you are running; like any web request it also carries your IP address. We record that the check happened, with a one-way daily hash of that address rather than the address itself, together with the browser-style identifier your PC sends with any web request, so we can count how many installs are active. It says nothing about your devices. If you then choose to install the update, Anchr downloads the installer and verifies its digital signature and version before running it.
4. Where Anchr Stores Things on Your PC
Everything Anchr saves stays inside your own Windows user account, and none of it is transmitted:
- Preferences, device lists and the activity log in
%APPDATA%\Anchr. - Your business license key and its cached validation result, if you have one, alongside those preferences.
- The application itself in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Anchr, or inC:\Program Files\Anchrif you chose to install it for everyone who uses the PC.
Uninstalling removes the application. If you want every trace gone, delete %APPDATA%\Anchr as well.
5. If You Contact Us
If you email us (for support, beta feedback, or a question about your business license), we receive your email address and whatever you choose to put in your message. We use this information only to reply to you and to fix the problem. We do not sell or share it.
6. Downloading the App
Anchr is downloaded from our website, which is hosted by a third-party web host. Like any website, the host may keep standard server access logs (such as IP address) for security and operational purposes. This happens at the web-server level when you visit the download page. The Anchr application itself does not transmit anything.
7. Children's Privacy
Anchr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Your Rights
If you are in the European Union, United Kingdom, or California, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. The only personal data we hold is what you send us by email and, for business-license holders, the company name and email tied to your purchase. You can exercise these rights by contacting jeremy@twoplus11.com. We will respond within 30 days. Deleting your business-license record will deactivate the license.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page when we do. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
