1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Pingr for Windows, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Pingr.
These Terms form a legal agreement between you and twoplus11 LLC, a Missouri limited liability company ("we," "us," or "our").
2. The Application
Pingr is a Windows application that archives your notifications (the sending app, title, message text and timestamp of each one, including any one-time code it detects inside the text) into a durable, searchable local history before Windows discards them, entirely on your own PC. It requires your permission to read notifications, granted through Windows's own consent prompt for Windows.UI.Notifications.Management.UserNotificationListener; that permission is a single, all-or-nothing switch for the app, not a per-app toggle. It is distributed from twoplus11.com/pingr/windows.
3. Beta Software
THIS IS A PRE-RELEASE ("BETA") BUILD OF PINGR FOR WINDOWS, MADE AVAILABLE FOR EVALUATION AND TESTING. IT MAY CONTAIN DEFECTS AND MAY BEHAVE UNEXPECTEDLY, INCLUDING MISSING A NOTIFICATION OR MISREADING A ONE-TIME CODE. DO NOT RELY ON IT AS YOUR SOLE RECORD OF A ONE-TIME CODE OR ANY OTHER TIME-SENSITIVE NOTIFICATION: VERIFY AGAINST THE ORIGINAL SOURCE BEFORE ACTING ON WHAT PINGR SHOWS YOU. DELETION IN THIS BETA IS IMMEDIATE AND THERE IS CURRENTLY NO UNDO. WE MAY CHANGE, SUSPEND, OR WITHDRAW THE BETA AT ANY TIME.
Feedback you send us about the beta may be used to improve Pingr without restriction or obligation to you. Please do not include a real one-time code or other sensitive notification content in a bug report. Send a description or a redacted example instead.
4. License
Personal License (Free)
We grant you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Pingr on your personal computers for non-commercial purposes. Personal use means use by an individual for personal, non-revenue-generating activities. The personal tier is the complete application. There are no locked features, trial timers, or watermarks.
Commercial License (free for commercial use, one-time)
If you use Pingr in connection with any business, employment, commercial, or revenue-generating activity, you must purchase a Commercial License for each device on which Pingr is installed. A Commercial License covers one device for the lifetime of the software. You may purchase a Commercial License at twoplus11.com/pingr/windows/#pricing.
Your license is personal and non-transferable. You may not transfer, sublicense, or assign it to another person or entity.
5. Restrictions
You agree not to:
- Distribute, sell, rent, lease, or sublicense Pingr to any third party
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble Pingr except where expressly permitted by applicable law
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
- Use Pingr for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Use Pingr to capture or store notifications you do not have the right to access, such as by using it under an account or on a device that is not your own without authorization
6. Third-Party Components
Pingr bundles open-source components, including pywebview and pythonnet (used to draw its interface), pystray (its notification-area icon) and the Pillow imaging library, and Microsoft's winsdk Windows Runtime projection, which is how it reaches the notification-listener API. Pingr also uses the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime, a Microsoft component governed by Microsoft's own terms. These components are the property of their respective authors and are governed by their own licenses, the full texts of which ship inside the application. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under those licenses.
7. Intellectual Property
Pingr, its design, original code, and all associated intellectual property rights (excluding the third-party components described above) are owned by twoplus11 LLC. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the application. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
8. Updates and Availability
We may release updates to Pingr that add features, fix bugs, or change behavior. Updates are free for the lifetime of your license. Pingr checks for updates periodically and tells you when one exists; nothing is downloaded or installed without your consent, and you can turn the automatic check off in Settings. We reserve the right to discontinue Pingr at any time without notice, though existing installations will remain functional.
9. Payments and Refunds
Commercial License purchases are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. Your license key is emailed to you immediately after payment. All sales are final. If you experience a technical issue that prevents Pingr from working on your machine, contact us at jeremy@twoplus11.com and we'll work to resolve it or issue a refund at our discretion.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
PINGR IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT PINGR WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED. PINGR ARCHIVES NOTIFICATION CONTENT DELIVERED TO YOUR PC, WHICH MAY INCLUDE ONE-TIME CODES, MESSAGE PREVIEWS AND OTHER SENSITIVE INFORMATION; THAT ARCHIVE IS STORED UNENCRYPTED UNDER YOUR WINDOWS USER ACCOUNT, RESTRICTED BY ACCESS CONTROLS THAT LIMIT BUT CANNOT GUARANTEE PROTECTION AGAINST EVERY LOCAL ACCESS SCENARIO (INCLUDING A LOCAL ADMINISTRATOR ON THE SAME MACHINE), AND YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CHOOSING A RETENTION PERIOD AND EXCLUSIONS APPROPRIATE TO YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES. PINGR CAN ONLY CAPTURE NOTIFICATIONS DELIVERED WHILE IT IS RUNNING AND PERMITTED, ITS CAPTURE MECHANISM ON WINDOWS POLLS PERIODICALLY RATHER THAN CAPTURING INSTANTLY AND MAY THEREFORE MISS A NOTIFICATION DISMISSED WITHIN THE POLL INTERVAL, AND WINDOWS MAY CHANGE ITS NOTIFICATION APIs OR PERMISSIONS AT ANY TIME, WHICH MAY REDUCE OR PREVENT CAPTURE. ONE-TIME-CODE DETECTION IS HEURISTIC AND MAY MISS A CODE OR DETECT THE WRONG ONE. PINGR IS NOT A BACKUP PRODUCT.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TWOPLUS11 LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF PINGR SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR YOUR LICENSE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY DOLLARS ($50 USD).
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Missouri.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of Pingr after any revision constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
