Privacy Policy
- Liftr runs entirely on your PC. Your photos never leave your computer, and every export writes a new file: Liftr never writes over a photo you added.
- No usage analytics, no accounts. Removing backgrounds and exporting never touch the network.
- The only times Liftr contacts our servers: if you buy and activate a business license (payment is handled by Stripe; we never see your card number), or when it checks for updates (which we count; see “Update checks” below). Your photos are never involved.
1. Who We Are
Liftr is made by twoplus11 LLC, a Missouri limited liability company (twoplus11.com). When this policy says "we," "us," or "our," it means twoplus11 LLC.

2. Data We Do Not Collect
Liftr is built to be completely private:
- Your photos are yours. Background removal, background replacement, and export all run locally on your PC. Nothing you open, edit, or export is ever uploaded to us or anyone else.
- An on-device machine-learning model, not a cloud service. This Windows build finds the subject in your photo using an on-device ML model bundled inside the app itself (it does not use Apple's Vision framework, which is Mac-only). The model runs locally and never sends your photo, or anything derived from it, anywhere.
- Liftr does not write over the photos you add. Every export (a cut-out, a background-and-export preset, a before/after GIF) writes a new file, and no writer will take the name of a photo sitting in your list.
- Editing is completely offline. The image engine never needs the internet. Your PC contacts our servers only when it checks for updates.
- No usage analytics. The app does not report how you use it or track what you edit. Its only routine request to us is a check for a new version, and you can turn it off in the update settings.
- No accounts for personal use. Personal use needs no sign-up and no key. (Business-license validation is the one exception; see the next section.)
3. Data We Do Collect
Business-license purchases. If you buy a Business License, you enter your company name, work email, and number of computers in our checkout form. We receive your company name and email so we can deliver your license key and keep a record of the purchase. Payment is processed by Stripe: your card details go straight to Stripe, and we never see or store them.
License validation. When you activate a business license key, Liftr sends the license key and a one-way hash of a Windows machine identifier (a truncated SHA-256 that cannot be reversed) to our licensing server to verify the license. It also sends the device name you choose to show, so you can tell your own computers apart when managing seats. We never receive anything about your photos or what you edit. These requests are hosted on Microsoft Azure, which may keep standard server access logs (such as IP address) for security and operational purposes. Liftr only makes these requests once a business key has been entered.
Update checks. Liftr checks whether a newer version exists: automatically about once a week (you can turn this off), or when you check manually. This is an ordinary HTTPS request to api.twoplus11.com identifying the app, the platform, and the version you are running; like any web request it also carries your IP address. We record that the check happened, with a one-way daily hash of that address rather than the address itself, together with the browser-style identifier your PC sends with any web request, so we can count how many installs are active. Nothing in it describes you or your photos. If you then choose to install the update, Liftr downloads the installer from twoplus11.com and verifies its digital signature and version before running it.
4. Where Liftr Stores Things on Your PC
Everything Liftr saves stays inside your own Windows user account, and none of it is transmitted:
- Preferences (your last background mode, export settings, custom presets, language and window size) in
%APPDATA%\Liftr. - Your business license key and its cached validation result, if you have one, in your user profile folder. The cache exists so the app keeps working for a period without a network connection.
- The application itself (including its bundled on-device model) in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Liftr, or inC:\Program Files\Liftrif you chose to install it for everyone who uses the PC.
Uninstalling removes the application. If you want every trace gone, delete the two folders above as well.
5. If You Contact Us
If you email us (for support, beta feedback, or a question about your business license), we receive your email address and whatever you choose to put in your message. If you submit our report form and attach a screenshot, we receive that too. We use this information only to reply to you and to fix the problem. We do not sell or share it.
6. Downloading the App
Liftr is downloaded from our website, which is hosted by a third-party web host. Like any website, the host may keep standard server access logs (such as IP address) for security and operational purposes. This happens at the web-server level when you visit the download page; the Liftr application itself does not transmit anything.
7. Children's Privacy
Liftr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Your Rights
If you are in the European Union, United Kingdom, or California, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. The only personal data we hold is what you send us by email and, for business-license holders, the company name and email tied to your purchase. You can exercise these rights by contacting jeremy@twoplus11.com. We will respond within 30 days. Deleting your business-license record will deactivate the license.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page when we do. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
