Privacy Policy
- Your screen recordings never leave your Mac — we have no access to them.
- Making GIFs is completely offline. No usage analytics, no tracking. The only thing the app ever sends is a weekly check for a new version, described in section 3, which you can turn off.
- If you buy a business license, we collect your email and company name to deliver your key.
- Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see your card number.
1. Who We Are
GifMint is made by twoplus11 LLC, a Missouri limited liability company (twoplus11.com). When this policy says "we," "us," or "our," it means twoplus11 LLC.

2. Data We Do Not Collect
We want to be clear about what we don't do:
- Your screen recordings are yours. GifMint processes and saves recordings entirely on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded to our servers — ever.
- No usage analytics. The app never reports what you do with it. Its only routine network request is the update check described in section 3.
- No crash reporting. There is no automatic crash reporting. If the app crashes, we don't know unless you tell us.
- Personal users send us nothing but the update check. For free personal use there is no key and no validation — the only request GifMint makes is the update check described in section 3.
3. Data We Do Collect
Update checks. GifMint checks whether a newer version exists — automatically about once a week, and whenever you check manually. You can switch the automatic check off. The request goes to api.twoplus11.com and identifies the app and the version you are running; like any web request, it also carries your IP address. It says nothing about you or your GIFs.
What we record when it checks. We log each check, so that we can tell roughly how many people still use the app: which app it was, the version reported, the date, the user-agent string, and a salted hash of your IP address — never the address itself, and the salt changes every day. Nothing in that record is tied to your name, an account, or a license. If you go on to install the update, that download is counted the same way. Apart from the license check described below, this is the only thing the app sends us.
Business license purchases
If you purchase a Business License, you provide your company name, email address, and number of seats via our checkout flow. We receive your email address and company name so we can deliver your license key and contact you about your license. Payment card data is handled entirely by Stripe — we never see it.
License validation
When you activate a business license key, GifMint sends the license key and an anonymous machine identifier (a one-way hash of your Mac's hardware serial number, truncated to 16 hex characters — it cannot be reversed) to our licensing server to verify your license. Your licensing server requests are routed through Microsoft Azure, which may retain standard web server access logs (including IP address) for security and operational purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
- Stripe — payment processing for business licenses. Stripe's privacy policy applies to data you provide during checkout. See stripe.com/privacy.
- Microsoft Azure — our licensing API is hosted on Azure App Service. Azure may retain standard server access logs.
We do not use advertising networks, social media pixels, or third-party analytics tools.
5. Data Retention
We retain your email address and company name for as long as you hold an active business license. You may request deletion at any time by emailing jeremy@twoplus11.com — we will delete your information within 30 days, though this will deactivate your license.
6. Your Rights
If you are in the European Union, United Kingdom, or California, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at jeremy@twoplus11.com. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Children's Privacy
GifMint is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have done so, we will delete it promptly.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page when we do. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
